Responsibility or The Blame Game?

Responsibility or The Blame Game?” Which one do you think is most likely to help you build a better life? It is an easy thought for some people to understand because of the truth of the matter. However sometimes the truth can be uncomfortable to hear, so if this offends you, please forgive me. Most of what I’m about to tell you I must admit came strait out of a book by Jack Canfield called “The Success Principles,” so I must give credit where credit is due.

Don’t Play The Blame Game!

If you play the “Blame Game” you will always lose in the end. You may possibly get a leg up from time to time, but ultimately YOU LOSE!

“You will never become successful if you continue to blame someone or something else for your lack of success. If you’re going to be a winner, you have to acknowledge the truth-it is you who took the actions, thought the thoughts, created the feelings, and made the choices that got you to where you are. It was you!”

Now I realize that everyone is different to an extent, but basic human needs and basic human mistakes are common to all of us. I suggest you ask yourself if you have ever been guilty of any of these statements below. I’m sure you’ve been guilty of at least one ;)

You are the one that ate the junk food. (or did the fast food drive-through force you? I think not!)

You are the one who didn’t say no!

You are the one who took the crappy job.

You are the one who stayed in the crappy job.

You are the one who chose to believe them.

You are the one who ignored your intuition.

You are the one who abandoned your dream.

You are the one who bought it.

You are the one who didn’t take care of it.

You are the one who decided you had to do it alone. (This one slapped “me-Gary” right in the face!)

You are the one who trusted him / her.

You are the one who said yes to getting a cat knowing you are allergic. (you know who you are).

Responsibility Wins The Game!

In short: You thought the thoughts, you created the feelings (believe it or not, you DO have some control over your feelings, but that’s another “Series” of blog posts all by it’s self), you made the choice, you said the words, and that’s why you are where are now.

I’m sorry if this hurts your ears, but taking 100% Responsibility for your own life and NOT Blaming Others is a must in order to “create / build a better life!” If you already know, understand and believe this then consider this a “Boosting” confirmation, and give yourself a big mental pat on the back. If you do not, you will. You either already know this, or you are going to learn it the hard way! You choose.

Cj and Gary (um, I’m Gary, the other “StayBoosted” guy) are here at StayBoosted.com to help lift you up and keep you strong. Sometimes however that includes a little shot of truth and reality. The cold hard truth was the order of the day this time. I sincerely with all my heart hope you took this as a “Boost!”

Don’t Chase Money

Don’t Chase Money

I’ll tell you why with one single quote!

“Poverty-one thing money can’t buy.”-Lynwood L. Giacomini

This may or may not make any sense to you but stick with me for a while and hopefully I can help you make sense of this!

Back when I was in the 6th grade my family was “BROKE“! We lived in a small 2 bedroom house with the dining room converted to a bed room (and bed sheets as doors!) We were lucky to get new clothes from Wal-Mart…75% of what we owned came from “yard sales” and “flea markets”.  It is funny looking back on it now but my parents had to break down and get “Food Stamps” and when Mom came home with the van full of groceries I honestly thought that we had hit the lotto!!!

I said that to say this, Yes times were hard and I’m sure there were times that they wanted to quit and just give up. But it was those times that my sister and I grew as close as we did!(O.K. so she is my step-sister but blood wouldn’t make any differance I still would die for her) We didn’t have the things that other kids did. We would sit down and play cards for hours or bottle ball(same as baseball but empty plastic bottles as the ball)

We laughed together and cried together…People say that if they could go back they would change so much!

I wouldn’t change being poor at that time in my life for anything! We didn’t have the best clothes or the fancy house or car but we had each other!

Chasing money can take your eyes off of what you truly wish for, “Happiness“!

I can say that because I’m sure that piece of paper with some dead guy on it (no disrespect) has no meaning behind it…It’s the feeling that comes with it that your looking for!  I promise money is not what brings happiness. I’ve lived happy while broke, and also with money and completely miserable!

Don’t Chase Money

Pursue Happiness!!

When it’s all over with, that is all that matters!!

From this day forward I hope you can find your true happiness and just live life instead of worrying over money “SMILE“! And listen to Bob Marley-“Don’t worry about a thing ’cause every little thing is gonna be alright!”

I wish for you “True Happiness!”

Paradigm Shift?

Paradigm Shift”? What is that??

I’ll be honest I had no clue what that meant until November of 2002.

Story Time“!

I was in the Navy and going through a lot mentally. I was the “Poster Child” for depression. Psych eval’s on the regular and my L.P.O. (Boss) laughing at me asking if I’ve seen any “Pink Elephants”?

I got off work one day and ran into a friend of mine outside of the barracks.  He was going crazy! (in a good way) I honestly could not tell you what he said because he was stuttering beyond belief, in pure excitement!  It was something about making a lot of money and FAST! Thats all I needed to hear…”Be in the lounge at 6 tonight!” was the last thing I heard from him.

I fell asleep and woke up around 6:15 and ran to the lounge and there sat a well kept man in a VERY NICE suit and shoes that looked like they were worth more than my paycheck!! Did what he say make sense…Yes! It was Multi-Level Marketing. But, the following Saturday this gentleman picked me up to take me to a “presentation” and he was listening to some crazy old man talking about “Madness”!

At this point I was thinking “This guy is a complete LOSER!” It was getting to know him and the people at the “presentation” and seeing some of the cars in the parking lot (some very cool ones might I add) that made me think maybe I should pay attention to this crazy old man and his “Madness”…His name was [Jim Rohn] LOL Yeah go ahead and laugh!

Now that my mind was open I noticed that this old man MADE SENSE!!!

Change the way you think! – Its simple but I never knew how big it was

It was this point that I realized that “As a man thinketh, So is he or she”!!!

If you say you are..You Are! If you say you are not..You Are Not!

If your having a “Bad Day” you possess the power to change it!!

“Now I know, only I can stop the rain!”-DMX (yes I just quoted him)

Its that simple, What is “Paradigm Shift”

This is the “Paradigm Shift for Dummies”- Definition

Create Your Dream Day!!

If you start your day off listening to that annoying buzz sound that comes with every alarm clock(You know what I’m talking about…that sound that makes you want to cry!) and yell and pound your hand against the alarm clock.  Get up and stub your toe on the leg of your bed and hit your head on your dresser as you reach down to grab your toe…Guess what Your Going To Have A Bad Day!!!

But…

If you wake up with a sound you like and tell your self “I’m going to be great today!” Wash your face and brush your teeth then look in the mirror and afferm the fact that you are “Golden” and “Your Going to be Great Today!” Guess what Your Going To Have A Great Day!!!

Here It Is-

A “Paradigm Shift” is needed in everybodies life!

Try this prayer (for you Christians)

God,

Grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

Courage to change the things I can,

And Wisdom to know the difference!

Amen

Thats It and All I have to say!!

Personal Reality

Over time I’ve come to realize some things that most people know but don’t know that they know it!! (I hope I didn’t lose you).

“Personal Reality” is as strong if not stronger than vision!

If you have the vision of being successful you will get there!  Its just that “Personal Reality” is almost a step above vision.

Let me explain-

What is “Real” to one person may not be “Real” to another.  I’m not saying it doesn’t exist-What I’m saying is, for example, for the longest time my “Personal Reality” was that life was hard.  I believed that with all my heart.  I even tried to prove it to my friends and family.

My “Personal Reality” that life was hard drove me to a state of depression that I wish for no one! Panic and Anxiety-Attacks mixed with massive Suicidal Thoughts! YES…At one point in my life I did not want to live.

(Sorry but I have to say it)

Long story short…

I was in the U.S. Navy stationed on the U.S.S. Austin LPD-4 and at first I loved it…But after a very brief time on the ship I learned that it wasn’t for me. I HATED IT! Up before everyone so I could get their breakfast ready (I was a cook by the way) and couldn’t go to sleep till the Galley was clean from dinner.  Sometimes that would be 20 hour days back to back depending on what was on the menu.

No sleep mixed with not liking what you were doing and a sprinkle of stress from the then(fiancee) is not a good thing!!

Thus my “Personal Reality” was that Life was Hard!!!

BUT..

After realizing that life is what you make it be, and that you control your destiny I had changed my reality

Its not about what other people think.

WHAT IS REAL TO YOU CAN MAKE OR BREAK YOU!

If you fall into the mental trap of being depressed remember this: You hold the key to unlocking whatever door you want!

You can do so by simply changing your “Personal Reality” being What you believe is real!!

Life is not hard and that is one reality that I hope EVERYONE has!!

Freedom from the Inner Battle

Jim Rohn once said you have to battle with your mind…I concider that your inner battle

Its the fight between you and your inner voice saying
“You cant do it!”
“No one in your family has ever done it!”
“Your wasting your time!”
“What makes you think you can do it now??”
“Your too Short/Tall/Thin/Fat…”

Now your inner voice knows you can do it the problem isn’t that you don’t believe in yourself its that you believe more in the people who don’t believe in you….

For instance…True life!!:

While I was enlisted in the U.S. Navy I came across a company by the name of “ACN” it was,at the time, the best business opportunity I had ever seen!!! I was excited because it was a team thing and there was alot of us pushing for the same result….Pure Happiness and Satisfaction

But,!!!!! My family didn’t believe in me (or in ACN as they would say) so because I believed in my family 100% I let their doubt in me cause myself to doubt myself

I knew I could do it but, it was the fact that I kept hearing the inner voice say
“There he goes again trying to make a million dollars…lol”
“When are you going to quit and get a real job”

True..Its not an inner voice… its rethinking the feelings of failure from listening to your family and/or friends….

So the question is…How do you get “Freedom from the Inner Battle”

Its easy but hard at the same time……

Believe in Yourself more than others….

Yes I admit family will always be there for you BUT you will always be there even when your family leaves for a little bit!!!

Believe what you will but don’t allow other people to tell you what to believe…It is pure vision that has changed our lives!!!

If people always listened to the inner voice aka other people…

we would be a depressed community a depressed world

Listen to this: You are who you believe you are….. As a man/woman thinkith so is he or she!!!

Declare you independence/freedom from the inner battle today!!!!

Dont Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill.
When funds are low and the debts are high.
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit.
Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns.
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out:

Don’t give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems so far:
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit
It’s when things seem worst that YOU MUST NOT QUIT.

The Man in the Mirror

In spite of recent events in the passing of [Michael Jackson] I thought I would go ahead and put a post up in his memory

The song….”Man in the Mirror”

The lyrics….

I’m Starting With The Man In
The Mirror
I’m Asking Him To Change
His Ways
And No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World
A Better Place
Take A Look At Yourself, And
Then Make A Change

Now with this being posted I shouldn’t have to say anything else but, I will……

Listen to the words!!!!

You can not change the world if you are not willing to change yourself (The Man in the Mirror) or woman….lol
