How To Use Affirmation Properly

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

“I am, therefore I exist,” is a phrase affirming one’s existence as a being. It may be a simple phrase, but it says everything about the being saying them. It indicates a confidence not commonly found among other beings.

But why do people need affirmation? Why do beings need to be affirmed? Is existence relative to one’s affirmation?

Affirmation is a very powerful technique to empower one’s subconscious. Once the subconscious is disciplined to believe one’s affirmation, the latter is converted into a positive action for the conscious mind. Through affirmation, beings are empowered to do, to work, and to strive for more things. Affirmation allows people to believe in themselves and to put their thoughts into action.

Affirmation is a combination of verbal and visual techniques of a preferred state of mind of a person. Strong affirmations can be very powerful, and can be used by almost anyone to achieve his goals and fulfill his desires. However, the power of an affirmation depends on how strong or weak an affirmation is.

Affirmation is merely an assertion made by a person, about something or about a state of being. A person can affirm those that he chooses to attain, like “I now have a good life.” Being healthy in mind, body, and spirit can also be made possible through affirmation.

A strong affirmation should be stated in the present tense to be more effective. An affirmation of “I am now a happy being” is more effective than an affirmation saying, “I am going to become a happy being.” Affirmation should always be in positive terms because it is supposed to work for you and not against you. Instead of saying, “I am not sad,” why not make an affirmation saying, “I am happy.”

An affirmation should be made up of simple but concise words, and it should be short to be more effective. A very long affirmation can work the other way around, instead of creating a positive mindset for a person. A short affirmation can be easily spoken and repeated by a person. It can serve as a mantra that can be repeated over and over again.

To be effective, an affirmation must be repeated. Repetition works and influences the subconscious, which in turn motivates the person into acting out his affirmation. A person who creates the affirmation should be deeply involved with the words he will be using, so he will be able to actualize his affirmation. Writing words that one believes in can be very powerful, and this can be put to good use when creating an affirmation.

However, creating an affirmation alone and repeating them a million times would not make the affirmation a state of mind. The important thing is to live one’s affirmation and to be open-minded enough to do the things that would help the affirmation become a reality. Feeling the affirmation and applying it in one’s life will help in making the affirmation a reality.

While affirmation is generally used to make an individual better, it can also be used to boost or confirm another person’s value. By affirming another person‘s existence, you are helping him improve his self-worth.

Affirmation is a very simple thing that can make a very big difference in a person‘s life. It can be a great motivator and can make things happen.

Positive Affirmations Develop Positive Life Change

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

Using positive affirmations is a powerful positive thinking technique that you can use effectively in countering the negative beliefs that may be regularly sabotaging your attempts to live a happier and more fulfilled life.

How successful and happy we are is often defined not by what happens to us, but rather, by how we react to the events in our lives. It is our subconscious beliefs about ourselves and the world around us that determine whether the reactions are positive or negative and whether the resulting outcome helps us or sabotages us.

Poor self-esteem and other negative beliefs are often at the very root of many personal problems and can cause massive damage to a person’s ability to succeed. The irony is that often these beliefs are often formed in childhood and are now either untrue for us or simply inappropriate for an adult and yet these underlying beliefs persist and are rarely re-assessed or challenged.

Positive Affirmations are positive statements; you can use them to reinforce positive aspects of the self and are effective in countering negative thought patterns. Positive affirmations also help start the process of self re-assessment, challenging those old negative beliefs about the self. By regularly repeating affirmations and keeping them in the forefront of your consciousness, you help develop new positive thoughts and a new positive mindset. By replacing the old negative thoughts with new positive thoughts, the positive affirmations open up a completely new set of life possibilities that simply did not seem possible before.

Breaking out of negative thinking is a cathartic experience. Suddenly instead of feeling “stuck”, caged or trapped by the old negative beliefs, you are released. At last able to spread the wings of life without fear and follow your dreams and your destiny unencumbered by the old baggage of negativity.

To use your positive affirmations effectively, you must use them regularly and consistently. I often leave positive affirmation cards that I have written lying about in places where I know I will see them and be reminded of them regularly throughout the day.

Perhaps the most important thing to understand about affirmations and how to use them is to be aware that every word we speak, every thought we think is also a form of affirmation. It is vital that when we catch ourselves being negative about ourselves, or about those around us, or anything for that matter. We stop, and find a new positive way of expressing ourselves that reflects the new positive self that we want to be. Initially this can be hard, but the good news is that if we persist, not only does it get easier; our slip-ups come less often.

Look Me In The Eyes

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

A Vision of your “Personal Destination” in life creates a confidence that will show in your eyes.  Do not show your fears, not because they make you look weak because they don’t. But, because they are your secret strength. The inner fear of what you won’t become if used correctly can drive you to becoming great and yet unstoppable.

I may be over doing it with the video’s the last three days strait but…This stuff is powerful!

Try this on for size…I’m going to do the same.

Wake up in the morning, go into the bathroom and when you wash your face and brush your teeth,

look yourself in the mirror and say this to yourself:

“Look me in the eyes”…It’s o.k. if your scared, so am I.

But we’re scared for different reasons.

I’m scared of what I wont become;

Your scared of what I could become.

Look at me…I won’t let myself end where I started-I won’t let myself finish where I began;

I know what is within me even if you can’t see it yet;

Look me in the eyes…I have something more important than courage, I have patience!

“I will become what I know I am”

-Michael Jordan

What to some may be just a very good commercial is actually one of the strongest affirmations I have ever came across!!!

Give it a shot!

Rewrite it if you think you need to in order to put your touch on it.

Or don’t

Either way…I challenge you to use it!!

As always Be Good and

Stay Boosted!

I hope you have a good day!
